OUR PASTOR

 

Rev. Dr. Steven D. Riley,  B.Th., M.Th., D.D., DhL

 

Reverend Dr. Steven D. Riley  was born on August 7, 1959 in the city of Detroit Michigan the only child of Geraldine(Riley)Taylor and first grandson of the late Ada (Riley).

 

Pastor Riley spent his childhood years surrounded by a generous portion of love and and spiritual direction from his aunt and uncle Johnny Mae (Doe) Rozier; the late Ann (Willard) McRae; and Barbara(Hubert) Barnes. 

 

Baptized at the age of seven by the late Reverend Henry L.Davis,Sr. he united, and remains, a member of the New Whitestone Missionary Baptist Church,  Detroit Michigan until.

 

on July 18, 1971 Pastor Riley consume his calling to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at the New Whitestone Missionary Baptist Church under the pastor of the late Rev. Oliver W. Moore.

 

Upon the retirement of late Pastor J. H. Hammond in January 1981  and upon pastor Hammond  recommendation  Dr. Steven D. Riley was elected Pastor of Christ Temple Baptist church,  becoming  the second pastor in the history of the church.

 

Pastor Riley continues to express his dynamic-ordained power of the Holy Spirit not only abilities to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ by the God -ordaine power of the Holy Spirit not only at Christ Temple but throughout the USA.

 

Pastor Riley's Immediate Family includes his mother Mrs. Geraldine(Riley)Taylor and two daughters, Dionna A. Riley-Johnson and Sha Tara Brown

We pray that our worship service will lift your heart with love for our father God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  as  pastor, I  would appreciate greeting you personally by shaking your hand at conclusion of service.


If you are searching for a church home. Your search is over! We greet and accept you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We invite you and your family to make Christ Temple Baptist Church your permanent place of worship.


Should you be led by the Spirit of God to unite with the Christ Temple Baptist church family, Myself or one of the associate ministers and deacons Will be waiting at the front of the church to accept you as a candidate for membership in our church family at the conclusion of the message.


There are three categories in which we receive new members: [1] by candidate for baptism if you have never confess the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior and being baptized by the emerge into the water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. [2] on your statement of Christian experience, haven't been a member in good standing with another Baptist church or church of like faith. [3] that a letter of transfer from another Baptist church or church of like faith if you are from out-of-state are held in office within the church.


If you are residing in the city of Ypsilanti, temporarily, you may share in the fellowship of this church and it's ministry through watch care thereby maintaining regular membership at your home church.
